Job Description

WhyMaker is in an exciting, fast-paced growth-mode and is seeking a Director of Educational Services who will have ownership of the quality, consistency, and delivery of WhyMaker's educational experiences, ensuring every program creates exceptional client impact, while building and leading a high-performing team. The Director will both lead and build the Educational Services department, manage client relationships end-to-end, create and execute our education strategy, and own the quality assurance system. This role is for someone who gets excited about working for a growing company, who has built a department within a small business, thought about and planned for growth, created and implemented structured systems, hired and trained new staff, and engaged with clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Education Strategy: Develop and implement a 12-month growth strategy and roadmap.
  • Ideate: Brainstorm and generate ways to accelerate company growth while serving clients needs.
  • Content Strategy & Quality: Drive the ideation of original, creative content designed to meet client goals and differentiate WhyMaker competitively while continuously improving the offerings.
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards. Build on and streamline systems for project management, contractor management, quality assurance, and delivery tracking. Create SOPs and templates where they do not yet exist.
  • Client Relationship: Oversee client relations to ensure long-term partnership, retention and high value strategic engagement and maintain a 95% satisfaction score across all clients.
  • Team Performance: Actively source, vet and manage a network of contractors and employees to deliver our services. Define KPIs and foster a high-performance culture built on accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Leadership: Act as the leader, strategist, and primary escalation point for the Educational Services department. Collaborate cross-functionally with the Executive Team to define product-market fit, educational approach for projects, support the writing of RFPs, and drive business growth.
  • Project Management: Act as the primary project manager for key accounts, ensuring seamless project delivery, client retention, and identifying upsell opportunities in collaboration with the sales team.

REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL

  • 5+ years in a leadership role, managing a team and driving growth, within a private business setting
  • Proven experience working in a fast-paced startup, or rapidly growing small business environment
  • Prior experience in developing educational content (instructional design, curriculum development, or professional development) required. Classroom teaching experience preferred.
  • A solid understanding of STEM education principles and best practices
  • Knowledge of current educational trends as well as student and adult learning standards
  • A "no task too small" attitude with a track record of building programs, processes, or teams with limited resources
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong hands-on project management skills
  • Willingness to implement EOS for business excellence

DESIREABLE

  • Experience using Google Workspace and Monday.com

  • Salary range: $80,000-$95,000 dependent on experience
  • Occasional travel may be required
