WhyMaker is seeking Professional Development experts in NYS/NYC who have a proven track record of positive experiences training adult educators and who have expertise in specific content areas. The right candidates will be able to work independently, meet a strict timeline, know adult learning practices and standards for educator excellence, and be excited about creating the best content possible, while collaborating with other team members as needed. Job Description
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience providing professional development to educators that gain positive results
- Experience teaching in a K-12 classroom environment
- Experience developing interactive, engaging, research-based professional development for educators that meets standards
- Understanding of the difference between adult learning and student learning
- Excellent written communication skills and an eye for developing high-quality digital materials
- Ability to connect and empathize with educators in a meaningful way and articulate ideas clearly and effectively
- Prepared and organized, excellent skills in managing multiple tasks and staying on top of tasks and deadlines
- Flexible and adaptable mindset regarding working with schools and educators
- Confidence to walk into a space and lead diverse educators to great learning
- Knowledge of how to use technology and presentation tools
- Educational expertise in assessment, special education, English language learners, instructional practices, pedagogy types, personalized learning, educational technology, career and technology education, or AI and computer science
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify new and relevant topics for professional development
- Develop descriptions and objectives for professional development sessions
- Create professional development activities, slide decks, resources
- Communicate with clients or educators as needed
- Present professional development to educators virtually or in person
- Follow WhyMaker's processes for executing professional development
- Identify ways to increase professional development within a school
- Willingness to travel depending on project

SALARY RANGE
- Payment dependent on project $300 - $1500
